Bob Odenkirk aka Breaking Bad’s Saul Goodman – lawyer to chemistry teacher-cum-drug-making madman Walter ‘Heisenberg’ White (Bryan Cranston) – is about to hit Netflix in his forthcoming spin-off series Better Call Saul.
The prequel is set long before White and Saul were in cahoots, which means well before White lost his hair – and his mind.
It follows the crooked attorney’s journey from the beginning, where he covers cases including parking tickets and mass murder.
The Sony Pictures Television show will air in the US and Canada on AMC Networks and will immediately land on Netflix in Europe and Latin America once the series ends.
Ted Sarandos, chief content officer, Netflix, said: “Breaking Bad is widely recognised as one of the great TV experiences in this new golden age of television. It has also proven very popular with Netflix subscribers around the world.
“This spin-off promises to continue its tradition of powerful storytelling. We are proud to be in business with Sony Pictures Television to bring Saul Goodman to our subscribers around the world.”
Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan is the brains behind Better Call Saul too, so expect to see more dark humour and perhaps even a cameo or two…
