VIDEO: will.i.am had plenty of surprises for fans at free Royal Albert Hall gig

Musician turned tech mastermind will.i.am has partnered mobile operator Three UK in a deal that has seen his all-new Dial smartwatch released exclusively through the company.
Laced with artificial intelligence and a SIM card, wearers of the device aren’t required to have a smartphone in order for it to work. Running on its own steam, it lets users make calls, send messages, take photos and stream music – just as they would with their phone.
To mark the launch, which took place on Friday 13th May, the rapper/singer held a free midweek gig called AneedA Night Out at the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday.
The Black Eyed Peas frontman did not disappoint, showcasing a high-energy performance with an array of dance moves, passionate remarks – like encouraging kids to embrace computer science and singing the praises of Lydia Lucy from The Voice, who joined him on stage for a number of songs – and all of the creativity and quirks he’s become known for.
Dial’s AI assistant AneedA was integrated as a fixture during the evening, giving Will the chance to advertise the gizmo he’s hoping everyone who attended will be purchasing. In particular, a key feature is the music streaming service, which is included free in the monthly package with Three, that boasts 30 million songs.
To that end, Will was keen to offer would-be Dial owners a taste of what they can expect from the device. As he performed, he was graced on stage with the likes of Pia Mia, who can be found in new single Boys & Girls.
When Will seemingly had enough of being centre-stage, he slipped off and reappeared in a DJ booth, spinning out everything from Prince and Michael Jackson to material from the present day.
Being the selfless man he is, Will used his time on the decks to welcome some special guests to the stage, with Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson – his The Voice colleague – making an appearance to perform I Predict A Riot.
Wilson wasn’t the only one to put in some overtime, much to the delight of the crowd – check out the videos below to find out who else came out to play for AneedA Night Out.
