BIG SCREEN: Universal Showcase – Part Three

Written by Zen Terrelonge

Immortals comes from the producers of 300 and released on the very cool date that is 11.11.11, it follows Greek hero Theseus (Henry Cavill) as he fights against the evil King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) in a bid to save mankind.

Perfect practise for the new Superman to get used to saving the world.

Luke Evans, Kellan Lutz and Freida Pinto also feature in the mythological tale.

I’ve seen the very gory fight scene that takes place inside the bowels of Mount Tartarus and if the rest of the film is anything like that then we’re in for some brilliant brutality.

The Thing is a prequel to the film of the same name, which takes place at an Antarctic research site.

A group of nosey explorers come across something that assumes the form of one of their party when snooping around a new discovery.

Needless to say, the thing is a nasty one and with the group having no idea who is really who, paranoia and fear spreads like wildfire.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Joel Edgerton and Eric Christian Olsen (no relation to the twins) all star in the horror.

The film is due for release on 2nd December to get us all in the mood for Christmas.
